| Majestic Pinjore
Pinjore lies on the foothills of the lower Shiwalik ranges Here lie one of the most fascinating Mughal Gardens. The Gardens are only 22 km from Chandigarh and 14 km from Panchkula town. Pinjore Gardens ae one of the most popular tourist resorts not only for holiday makers, but also for historians and archaeologists. The Pinjore valley has a climate that is pleasant and far from urban noises. Pinjore is an ancient historical and religious place. Tools of early man have been found from the region. From the religious angle. Pinjore has long been associated with five Pandava brothers of the epic Mahabharatha. It is believed that the Pandavas stayed in the area during their exile. Because of their presence in the region, the place was known as Panchpura. This later changed to the word 'Pinjore'. Even today, Pinjore bears images of its ancient history. An old Baoli or water well lies in the village. Here old sculptures and inscriptions can be seen. The ruins of Bhima Devi temple ae yet another indication of the ancient history of the area. Lying a short walk from the Mughal gardens the Bhima armed Shiva, colossal head of Bhairva, and forms of Ganesha and Shakti. The ruins of the temples indicate that the temple belonged to the old Panchayatan group and dated to the 9th 11th Century AD

Mughal Gardens
The most fascinating attractions of the Pinjore valley however are majestic muchal gardens. The structures date to the 17th century AD and are perhaps the only Mughal garden, where one descends to the last step. The architecture of the gardens was planned by Nawab Fidai Khan, a cousin of Aurangzeb, and an architect Badshahi mosque at Lahore. The Nawab was also Governor of the Province and it was during his tours, that he chanced upon the rare beauty of this valley. The Nawab realised the beauty of the place and set to work. He planned the Garden on the classical charbagh pattern, given the area a central waterway. Both sides of this waterway were covered with the patches of green bordered with flowers and shaded by trees like the traditional palm, the cypress and magnolia. But the Nawab could not stay here for long. Frightened by local goitre stricken women, the courtiers of the Nawab fled. The palace fell in the hands of the Raja of Sirmaur who had planned this move. In 1775 Maharaja Amar Singh of Patiala bought Pinjore and joined it among his lands. He restored the beauty of the Gardens and frequently visited it, till in 1966, the Gardens were handed over to Haryana when it was formed as a new state. The Gardens were the first and only centre of tourist attraction at the time

| Sultanpur National Park
Sultanpur National Park is located in Gurgaon district of Haryana, about 50 km from Delhi and 15 km from Gurgaon on the Gurgaon-Farukh Nagar Road.
In the old map and district gazetteer of Gurgaon district, this area is shown as marshy land having a 'salt pan' where water accumulates during rains and dries out during summer. A number of organisms like crustaceans, fish and insects thrive during floods which attract a number of birds to this area.
It's sanctuary potential was first of all identified by the world famous ornithologist Peter Jackson. Keeping in view it's importance and potential, the area covering 359 acres was declared a Bird Sanctuary in 1971 and was upgraded to the Status of National Park in 1991 by Haryana Govt.
With the protection of the area and the rapid development of its habitat during the past 20 years it has become a 'Paradise' for migratory and local birds.
The Department of Wild Life Preservation Haryana has carried out a number of development works like construction of mounds, and widening of paths, four tubewells have also been dug. Efforts are being made to improve the vegetation on this area by plantation works. Trees which are popular with the birds like Acacia Nilotica, Acacia Tortilis, Beris and Neem have been planted. For the benefit of bird lovers certain facilities have been provided like an education and interpretation centre, a library as well as films, slides and binoculars. There are four watch towers located at different points. In addition there is parking and facilities for toilets and drinking water.
The educational Interpretation Centre has over 70 attractive colour photographs and tranlites of different species of birds, varying from 16"x16" to 38"x40". The photographs are accompanied with informative write-ups about birds which will be of interest to bird lovers.
India is proud of Salim Ali, an internationally renowned Ornithologist. The Haryana Wild Life Department has dedicated to his memory a room which contains his bust, photographs, write ups, and certain of his personal effects.
In Sultanpur, 250 bird species have been recorded (check list 1985), 150 are resident while others come from distant regions like Siberia, Europe and Afghanistan. The Painted Stork, White Ibis, Little Brown Dove, India Crested Lark, Myna, Redvented Bulbul, Magpie Robin, Weaver Bird. Every Year 90 migratory bird species arrive here in search of feeding grounds and to pass the winter. In winter the sanctuary provides a picturesque panorama of migratory birds (87 species) such as Rosy Pelican, Spotted Sand Piper, Starling, Blue Throat. In summer, 11 species of migratory birds such as Koel and Cuckoos are recognised by their melodious songs.
The endeavour of the department is to constantly improve the habitat so that increasing number of birds reside in this area and also to help bird lovers to come and study the bird life. The birds lovers on their part are requested not to disturb the birds by creating noise or frightening them with music.

The Delhi-Alwar highway boasts of a unique hilly attraction Sohna. Standing on a sleep front of the Aravalli Hills, Sohna looks out at a wide panoramic view of the plains below it. The complex has been naturally landscaped with hardy shrubs, flowering bougainvillea and clusters of other flowering trees.
Sohna has been provided with an exclusive Barbet Hut complete with its own sitting area and an attached kitchen. A motel wing has been built here, where air-conditioned rooms are avialable for stay. A four bed dormitory, family huts and simple camper huts have been built for the budget tourists. February is always a special month at Sohna. This is the month when the Statesman Vintage Car Rally vends it way to the Sohna hill and Haryana Tourism celebrates the day with a mela event.
